Jonathan Drouin played this past season in the QMJHL for the Memorial Cup Champion Halifax Mooseheads.

Drouin might be the most skilled player in this draft class.  He has great hands, excellent stickhandling ability and can make  plays off the rush.  Drouin has the ability to beat defenders one-on-one creating quality scoring chances for himself and his teammates.

 Offensive Buzzwords

Jonathan Drouin has tremendous vision, is a great set-up man and a good goal scorer. He has a very good wrist shot and a quick release.  He plays a complete game, battles in the corners and at the front of the net. Drouin will go into the tough areas of the ice to make a play.  He has an extremely high skill level,  a high compete level and has a great hockey sense.

Skating

Drouin is a tremendous skater that has very good balance, agility and ability to change speeds.  Jonathan Drouin has great acceleration and he has above average speed.

Defence

Drouin defensive game is improving but is the weakest part of his game.  He has a hard time with bigger forwards and needs to bulk up to compete in all areas of the ice at the NHL level.

Projection

Jonathan Drouin should be a 1st line winger with potential to be point per game plus scorer.   He has bounced around in the top 3 prospect projections all season actually being #1 for some time.  I see Drouin being selected #3 overall
