Offensive Buzzwords

First things scouts say is he has all the skills.  Despite being only 5’11 he is extremely good on the cycle, is very good at protecting the puck, and is very hard to separate him from the puck.  He is a very good stick-handler that goes to net hard and does not shy away from the tough areas of the ice.

Nathan MacKinnon is very effective on the rush, he uses his skating ability, balance and agility to back-up defenders to create time and space.

MacKinnon is a goal scorer with tremendous finish with an excellent wrist-shot and a pro release.  Mix that in with excellent hockey sense, good positional play, good on-ice vision and play-making ability makes him the most complete player in the draft.

Skating

Nathan MacKinnon is an excellent skater with very good top-end speed and great acceleration. Combine that with a quick first step and the ability to change speed makes his skating one of his biggest assets.

Defensive Buzzwords

MacKinnon has worked hard to become a complete player and works hard in his own end.  He continues to work on his skills in the face-off circle.

Nathan MacKinnon is #1B

Being from Cole Harbor, NS, home of the best player in the world it is natural he is going to be compared to Sidney Crosby.  He is not Sid but he will be a franchise player for a NHL team.  Nathan MacKinnon is projected to have 90 point plus potential.  Make no mistake about it Nathan MacKinnon is a franchise changing player ands may or may not be the top prospect in the 2013 NHL Draft.  Look for him to be drafted #2 overall.
