Damien Brunner played this past season in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings.

Damien Brunner was a 26 year old rookie last season and the transition to the NHL was decent to say the least.  Brunner did a nice job fitting  in with Detroit and was a valuable contributor that played as a top six forward for the most part.

Video is 8:24 but worth the look

I would think Detroit will attempt to re-sign him but if he hits the open market he will be a highly sought after forward and will have a number of teams trying to acquire him.

Once again Damien Brunner would look pretty good on the Winnipeg Jets second line and would probably help on the PP.   Should we be concerned that he looked good playing on a good Detroit team with a very efficient veteran top 6 forward group?   Absolutely.  That’s why NHL G.M.’s get paid the big bucks.  IMO Damien Brunner would be a good player on any team.

My name is Mitch and like most Canadian kids I was introduced to hockey at a very young age and fell in love with the game. I have played, I have coached, I even scouted in WHL for 15 years. I spend half my time in Winnipeg, MB and the other half in San Tan Valley, AZ. I am a season ticket holder for The Winnipeg Jets and my wife and I attend The Phoenix Coyotes games. I am involved in 3 or 4 fantasy leagues, I enjoy hockey shows on radio or TV, TSN or SportsNet, ESPN or NBC Sports and Fox Sports Arizona. You get the picture, hockey is a big part of my life.
