The NHL Trade Deadline is fast approaching — here are five names the Jets should target

*Author’s note: While I was writing this piece, the Jets acquired centre Cody Eakin from the Vegas Golden Knights for a conditional fourth-round pick.  This may make some of the centres I suggest below seem a bit redundant, but with the injuries to Bryan Little and Adam Lowry, further bolstering the centre position isn’t necessarily a bad thing and I still believe some of the suggested names make sense. Winnipeg Jets Sign Three

The Winnipeg Jets signed three of their restricted free agents (RFAs) to contracts recently. 

Forwards Marko Dano and Nic Petan agreed to terms on one year deals, while the Jets locked up defenseman Tucker Poolman for three years.  Poolman and Dano signed on July 24, while Petan was inked on August 1. [Read more…]

Winnipeg Jets Add Santeri Virtanen In Round 4

WHT Prospect Profile: Santeri Virtanen

The Winnipeg Jets selected their second Finn of the 2017 NHL Draft in Santeri Virtanen with the 105th pick overall.  Virtanen played last season with TPS U20 of the Junior A SM-liiga.  He was ranked as high as #46 by McKeen’s Hockey. [Read more…]
