Dauphin Kings Qualify For the Royal Bank Cup

Dauphin Kings Advance to the RBC Cup —

The Dauphin Kings have played their way into the field for the 2014 the RBC Cup.  Using their home ice advantage at Credit Union Place, the Kings won the hard way coming from behind to post a 4-3 victory over Spruce Grove Saints at the Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup. 

The Kings were in tough after losing the “1-2 playoff game” to the Yorkton Terriers Saturday night so Sunday’s second-berth game was their last chance to advance to the RBC Cup and they made it count with the 4 – 3 win.

Notes:  Troy Martyniuk was named the Kings’ player of the game.  The rookie goalie entered the game in the first period when King’s starter Jordan Piccolino was injured in a collision …. the RBC Cup begins Saturday, May 10 in Vernon, BC …. The Dauphin Kings last appearance at the RBC Cup was in 2010 where they lost in the final …. Spruce Grove outshot the Kings 35-24.
