Brandon Wheat Kings News For The Week Of Nov. 25 — Dec. 1
The Brandon Wheat Kings returned home Sunday from a 4-game in five night Western Hockey League road trip that saw them go 1-2-1-0.
After opening up the first half of the excursion by collecting three of a possible four points with games played in Swift Current and Medicine Hat, the wheat Kings dropped both ends of a weekend twin bill against the Kootenay Ice in Cranbrook.
Brandon will now begin preparations for what will be a busy weekend coming up. After travelling to Moose Jaw to meet the Warriors on Friday night, Eric Roy (pictured player) and the Wheat Kings will host Prince Albert on Saturday before taking to the ice Sunday afternoon for their annual Scotiabank Skills Day at Westman Communications Group Place.
The Wheat Kings begin the week with a record of 13-13-1-0 and sit in eighth place in the Eastern Conference – one point up on Red Deer and one point back of the seventh place Regina Pats.

SCOTIABANK SKILLS DAY:
Calling on western Manitoba minor hockey players!
The Brandon Wheat Kings, in association with Scotiabank, are looking for “Honorary Stick Kid Captains” for the 2013 Scotiabank Skills Day, scheduled for Sunday, December 1st at Westman Communications Group Place.
Minor hockey players (12 and under) are encouraged to visit either Brandon Scotiabank location (Shoppers Mall and Rosser Avenue downtown) to enter the contest, which will close on Wednesday, November 27th at 5pm.
Two lucky players will earn the right to join the Wheat Kings on the ice for the annual event, which will feature a number of exciting events including Breakaway, Relay, Accuracy and Hardest Shot.
As well, they will take home an autographed Wheat Kings’ replica jersey.

CHRISTMAS SCHOOL GAME VISITS SET TO BEGIN:
Members of the Brandon Wheat Kings will be visiting a number of schools this week as preparations begin on this year’s Shoppers Mall Teddy Bear Toss, scheduled for Friday, December 13th when Brandon plays host to the visiting Kelowna Rockets.
Thanks to six participating businesses – Investors Group, MCM Architects, Memories Chapel, Brugger Wealth Management, Brandon Chrysler Dodge and Russ Shewchuk IBEW Local Union 285.
BRANDON BITS:
Captain Ryan Pulock will represent Brandon on the WHL All Stars that will face off against the Russians in this week’s SUBWAY Super Series in Alberta…The Wheat Kings added some depth to their goalkeeping this past week with the acquisition of 18-year old Christopher Tai from the Lethbridge Hurricanes, in exchange for a conditional eighth round bantam draft choice…Tai served as back up to rookie Jordan Papirny during this weekend’s 2-game series against the Kootenay Ice. A former first round bantam draft choice, Papirny has started in eleven straight games as veteran Curtis Honey remains out with an upper body injury…Newly acquired defenceman Ryan Pilon meanwhile scored his first goal as a Wheat King in Friday’s loss to the Ice. The former Hurricane will make his Brandon debut this Saturday vs. Prince Albert…BMO, the WHL and the Wheat Kings have announced plans for the annual Ultimate Fan Contest, scheduled for December 6th when the Swift Current Broncos pay a visit to Westman Place.
