WINNIPEG JETS CLINCH !!!!!

For the first time since 1996 there will be playoff hockey in Winnipeg –

There WILL be joy in Joyville –

The Winnipeg Jets have punched their ticket for the 2014-15 NHL playoffs.  With their shoot-out loss versus the Colorado Avalanche and a win by the Calgary Flames over the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, the Jets clinched the final wildcard spot in the Western Conference.

Earlier this week the Jets left Winnipeg for a three game road trip with their playoff lives hanging in the balance and they secured five out of six points.  The team only scored three goals in those three games BUT goaltender, Ondrej Pavelec didn’t allow a goal, posting three consecutive shutouts.

The Jets will play their final game of the regular season against the Calgary Flames at the MTS Centre on Saturday afternoon and I’m sure it’s going to be a party atmosphere with tons of celebrating and hand shakes.

THEN … the NHL playoffs start next week and there is a 99.9% chance they will face the Anaheim Duck in the first round.

The celebrations have begun!

It didn’t take Jets fans long to let the celebrations begin as hundreds of people gathered at Portage and Main for a big HANDSHAKE!

Congratulations to the Winnipeg Jets players, Mark Chipman, David Thomson, Kevin Cheveldayoff, Paul Maurice and his coaching staff AND most of all to the Winnipeg Jets fans that have been waiting for this moment since the arrival of Winnipeg Jets 2.0.
