Adam Erne played this past season in the QMJHL for the Quebec Remparts. At the start of this season, Erne was being projected as a potential top 10 draft pick buy a lot of scouts. Erne is a power forward that plays a very physical game. He is at his best on the forecheck, battling along the boards and in front of the net. Adam Erne has good hands a possesses a good wrist shot with a quick release.
Erne’s skating has steadily improved in his time with the Remparts and is now considered a very good skater. He has a long and powerful stride that allows him to generate good speed with the balance and strength that allow him to go wide on defencemen and beat them before cutting to the net.
Erne already has a solid defensive game and is very reliable in his own zone. He plays the same physical game in the defensive zone as he does in the offensive zone. Adam Erne is projected to be top line forward that should be in most teams top 6 forwards. Erne should be drafted in the 16-22 range. I don’t see the Jets taking Adam Erne if Horvat or Domi are available.
