Achievements:  Bennett was drafted 9th overall in the OHL’s priority draft.  He was named to the OHL’s Second All Rookie team.  Sam Bennett has represented Canada at the U18 WJC (7 points) and the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (4 points) winning Gold Medals in both events.

Scouting Buzzwords:  Sam Bennett is a decent skater with very good quickness.  Bennett has better than average skill that he combines with a high compete level.  He is a skilled left winger with good on-ice vision that allows him to create scoring chances for his line-mates.  Bennett also possesses a decent shot with a quick release.

Prospect Analysis:  Sam Bennett is projected as a first round draft pick.  The question is where?  His early ranking was mid-round but he is off to a very good start in Kingston this season and he is playing his way into a potential Top 10 selection.  Look for Bennett to be in the Top 5.
