The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Jimmy Lodge to an ELC and beat the June 1 deadline for signing unsigned draftees.

The 2013 Jets draft pick has signed a three-year, two-way, entry-level contract (ELC) with an average annual value of $805,000.

Twenty year old Jimmy Lodge is currently playing in his fourth season in the OHL.  He played for three plus seasons with the Saginaw Spirit before being traded to the Mississauga Steelheads on Nov. 23, 2014.  This season Lodge has amassed 62 points on 28 goals and 34 assists with 51 penalty minutes through 56 games this season.  In his junior career, Lodge has scored 187 points on 83 goals and 104 assists along with 138 penalty minutes over 224 games with Saginaw & Mississauga.

Career highlights:

1.  Selected in the 3rd round, 62 overall in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection Draft by the Saginaw Spirit.

2.  Represented Team USA at the 2012-13 U18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Scouting report:

Jimmy Lodge is a hard-working center with decent offensive skills that projects as a 3rd or 4th line center at the pro level.  He will need work in the AHL to further develop his game.
