Analysis:
At first glance, I like the signing. I like Adam Lowry and what he brings to the table. Last season the line of Adam Lowry/Andrew Copp/Armia or Tanev were a very effective unit on most nights. This trio spent a lot of time in the opposition end and was very effective both at home and on the road. Adam Lowry and his line didn’t score much but they had solid analytics numbers last season. You always know you are going to get an honest effort out of the Lowry line and he is definitely the driver of his group on most nights.
Adam Lowry is a decent penalty killer and he is also decent in the faceoff circle. My problem with Lowry is him and his line don’t score enough to be the third line. I’m also concerned about his injuries last season. Adam Lowry is a good fourth line center but almost 3 mil per season is TOOOO much AAV for this player. The term is probably bang-on.
Final Thought:
I like Adam Lowry as a player and I’m glad he will be on the Winnipeg Jets for the next three seasons but I don’t like this contract.
