Winnipeg Jets have center Cole Perfetti drop into their laps at #10 –
The Winnipeg Jets used their first-round pick, #10 overall to select center Cole Perfetti from the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL.
I don’t know how many times over the years that an NHL General Manager has said “I can’t believe he was there when it was our turn to select”. I believe this was the case with Kevin Cheveldayoff and his scouting staff this year. Almost all the Mock Drafts and pre-draft lists had Cole Perfetti ranked anywhere from #5 to #8.

Offensive Buzzwords
The two things you constantly hear about Cole Perfetti is he is an excellent passer, he has great vision and has an extremely high hockey IQ.
Skating
Cole Perfetti would probably be considered an average skater with good balance and agility.
Defensive Buzzwords
Like most young players entering the NHL Cole Perfetti will have to work on his defensive game. Young players that are used to having the puck all of the time will find the speed, size, and defensive assignments a challenge. At the OHL level, Perfetti plays a pretty sound 200-foot game and competes hard.
Prospect Analysis
Cole Perfetti has a fairly high ceiling and should project as a #1 or #2 center capable of playing on the powerplay. He is an elite-level passer that fills a huge organisational need.
Projected: #5 – #8
Actual: #10
