The Winnipeg Jets have signed Unrestricted Free Agent forward Matt Halischuk to a new contract.  As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Matt Halischuk is coming off a two year contract worth  $1,425,000 that he signed with the Preds.  The annual cap hit was $712,500 per season.  

It is being reported that RW Matt Halischuk signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Winnipeg Jets that will pay him $650,000 in the NHL and $250,000 in the AHL.

Matt Halischuk is 25 years old and appeared in 36 games with the Nashville Predators during the 2012-13 season.  In that time, the right winger recorded 11 points on 5 goals and 6 assists with 10 penalty minutes.   He also played two games with the Milwaukee Admirals for three points on 2 goals and 1 assist.  

Matt Halischuk is a Toronto native and has appeared in 157 career NHL games between New Jersey and Nashville.  He has 54 career points on 25 goals and 29 assists along with 41 penalty minutes.   Originally drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fourth round, 117th overall, in the 2007 NHL Draft.
