The Winnipeg Jets have recalled defenceman Zach Redmond from their American Hockey League affiliate in St. Johns. The Winnipeg Jets also have re-assigned Ben Chiarot and Julian Melchiori to the IceCaps.
Zach Redmond is a 25 year old defenceman that has played two games with the IceCaps so far this season with a goal and an assist along with two penalty minutes.
Redmond made his NHL debut in 2012-13 when he appeared in eight games with the Winnipeg Jets. During that time, Redmond recorded 1 goal and 3 assists along with 12 pims before suffering a serious leg injury which ended his NHL season.
Redmond has played in 115 career AHL games between Chicago and St. John’s. His stat line is 17 goals, 35 assists for 52 points along with 73 pims. He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round, 184th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.
Zach Redmond is under contract for the 2013-14 season with a contract of $715,000. He will be a RFA in 2014.
