Manitoba Bisons To Play In Europe —
Bisons hockey team plays four exhibition games during European Tour from August 25-September 4. This is the second time in three seasons that Bison men’s hockey head coach has scheduled a European Tour for the Bisons.
The Manitoba Bisons men’s hockey team have begun training camp early for the 2013-14 Canada West season as they will get a head start on hockey with a European Tour from Aug 25-Sept 4.
During the Tour, the Bisons will play four exhibition games as they start on Tuesday, August 27 with the first game versus Rosenheim in Germany. The second game is on Thursday, August 29 vs. Klostersee in Germany. Then the squad travels to Italy and will play in the Ritten tournament for two back-to-back games on Sat., Aug. 31 and Sun., Sept. 1 before a couple of days sightseeing and return back to Winnipeg.
“We are excited to begin the 2013-14 season with a wonderful opportunity for the players to play international competition and enjoy the sights of Europe while traveling to the games, “ stated Bison men’s hockey head coach Mike Sirant.
Sirant, into his 18th season at the helm of the Bisons program, has now scheduled a European Tour for the second time in three seasons. At the beginning of the 2011-12 season, Manitoba played in five exhibition games in Europe and won three games before advancing to the Canada West Semi-Finals at the end of that season.

Bison Men’s Hockey Notes: The rest of the Bisons pre-season schedule has Manitoba at U of Regina tournament on Sept. 13-14, then hosting Regina at the Max Bell Arena on Sept. 20-21 on both days at 2 p.m. CT followed by hosting Toronto on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. and then ending at University of North Dakota on Oct. 6 at 7:07 p.m. CT.
