1. Jets:  Last week I mentioned that the nightmare for Winnipeg Jets fans is finally over as Connor Hellebuyck has been traded, but we woke up to a new one; nine games winless and counting.

2. Jets:  Winnipeg Jets played 4 games last week, finishing with a 0-4-0 record and 4-8-3 overall.

3. Jets:  It seems the inevitable is coming sooner rather than later, and Scott Arniel will be walking the plank any time now, but it makes no sense to name an interim coach from his staff, as they are part of the problem.  It has to be a full purge.

4. Jets:  Where were we at this time last season?

2025-26:  9-6-0, 18 pts.   GF: 47  GA: 39
2026-27:  4-8-3, 11 pts.    GF: 34  GA: 54

5. Jets: Poll Question:   What would you do?

It's time for a change. What would you do?

6. Jets:  Things that make me go hmmm: #1 🤔 Why would Chevy accept a deal with New Jersey that included a goalie unless he thought Nico Daws was an upgrade over Clay Stevenson, and if that is the case, why is Stevenson still here, roster-blocking Brayden Yager?

7. Jets:  Special Teams and Goaltending:  Rule of thumb.  Have the power play and penalty kill (PK and PP) numbers total at least 100% when added (as your minimum).

  • PP: 25th at 16.70% down from 19th at 19.60%
  • PK: 25th at 70.00% down from 14th at 80.40%
  • FO: 30th at 45.70% up from 30th at 45.40%
  • Stuart Skinner:  3-4-3 … 3.36 GAA … .887 SV%
  • Clay Stevenson:  1-3-0 … 3.61 GAA … .870 SV%
  • Nico Daws:  o-1-0 … 3.11 GAA … .913 SV%

8. Jets:  Although Neal Pionk is trying his best, it has been fairly noticeable that after Josh Morrissey, Elias Salomonsson is probably our next best defenceman and our pairings should look like this when healthy:

Morrissey … Salomonsson

Samberg … Pionk

Ferraro … Bauer

Fleury … DeMelo

9. Jets:  The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly this past week.

  • Good:  Neal Pionk tried his damnedest to create offence.
  • Bad:  In the Jets’ four games last week, they were GF: 7 and GA: 23 EMBARRASSING
  • Ugly:  Faceoffs, giveaways, slot coverage, special teams, board battles, and overall physical play.🤮

10. Tidbits and FYIs:

  • The Manitoba Moose are 8-4 to start their season.  GF: 47 GA: 32  🫎
  • Brayden Yager has 12 points in 10 games for the Moose.

Shake it up!! This organization needs a huge overhaul starting at the top. Chevy should have stuck to his guns in the Hellebuyck trade because he sure didn’t get much of a return to help the team now and hasn’t done enough over the past few years to build up our defense squad. Arniel should be fired for playing Lowery too many times in 3 on 3 situations alone over more skilled players. And Chipman should stay out of hockey operations and hire someone who is better qualified.
