Offensive Buzzwords
Connor McDavid is an extremely highly skilled center with an outstanding offensive skill-set that can control a game when he’s on the ice. He is a very good skater with a good shot and he likes to shoot the puck. McDavid is a natural goal scorer and an even better play-maker. Words like hockey sense, sees the ice, high hockey IQ, and competes in the greasy areas, 200 foot game all describe my #1 overall pick.
Skating
Connor McDavid would be considered a very good skater, with good speed and agility. He has the ability to use his speed to go wide around defenders, to change speeds to dart in and out and around defenders like they are standing still. McDavid creates opportunities off the rush but he doesn’t slow down with the puck on his stick. All of McDavid’s skating attributes would be considered better than average.

Defensive Buzzwords
Connor McDavid’s defensive game is very solid. He competes in both ends of the rink and a works hard on his defensive game.
Prospect Analysis
Superstar and franchise player are a couple of names used to describe Connor McDavid’s future. The term generational player has been bandied about quite a bit but I won’t go there yet. He is a gifted offensive player with an elite level skill-set that works extremely hard and he already has an NHL ready game. He has been playing against bigger and older players for years. It will be scary to see where he takes his game as he gets older and is physically equal with his peers. I believe he is the most exciting prospect since Sidney Crosby. He is the undisputed best player in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Projected: #1 overall.
