Elias Lindholm played this past season in the Swedish Elite League for Brynäs.
Lindholm is a play-making center with soft hands and is an excellent stickhander. He is not really a shooter but does possess a decent shot with a quick release. He is considered a good skater, very agile, with top end speed and acceleration.
Elias Lindholm should be picked early
He works hard in the corners and wins battles, but like I’ve stated more than once in these evaluations he will need to bulk up his frame to compete at the NHL level. Elias Lindholm competes hard and isn’t afraid to go into the tough areas to make a play.
Elias Lindholm has good defensive game already, works hard on the back check and understands his defensive responsibilities. His complete game is very well developed for an 18 year old player and that’s why so many scouts have him rated as an early pick in the first round. Elias Lindholm is projected to be a first line forward who can be used in all situations and play big minutes. In time he is expected to center a #1 line and be a point per game scorer. I don’t think he will picked any later than 7 or 8 and probably in the 6-9 range.
