Offensive Buzzwords

Travis Sanheim was not used a lot in offensive situations early on in the season but in the second half he has started to show the Calgary Hitmen his underrated offensive skills.  He is playing with a little more confidence in his offensive game and showing he is more than just a stay at home defenceman.  He can skate, pass and he possesses a pretty good shot.

Skating

Travis Sanheim  a very solid skater with good agility and mobility.  He rarely gets beat in one on one situations.

Defensive Buzzwords

Travis Sanheim is a very good defensive defenceman that sees the ice very well and makes a very good first pass on the breakout.  He is also starting to develop a solid 200 ft game.

Prospect Analysis

Travis Sanheim is another late arrival into the first round conversation.  He has the tools to potentially be a number 3 or 4 defenceman at the NHL level.  He has always been a solid defender but his ever improving offensive game has turned some heads in the second half of the season.  He is playing with a little more confidence, jumping into the play at the right times and putting up some points.  Travis Sanheim has worked his way into a late first or early second round draft pick.  Travis Sanheim’s stock is definitely trending upwards.  A player to keep an eye on.

* Travis Sanheim’s stock is continuing to rise after a solid WJC-18 tournament this spring.  He lead the tournament in points and assists for a defenceman and was named as a “Top 3 Player” on Team Canada.  Don’t be surprised if Sanheim works his way into the Top 15 or even Top 10 !!!
