2014-15 “All NHL Games Worth 3 Points” Standings

Alternative NHL Standings (3 point regulation win) – UPDATED

Once again it’s time to give hockey fans the alternative 3 point standings (3 point regulation win) so we can see how the standings would look if ALL games were worth 3 points.  For now we will post the standings weekly and maybe even daily closer to the end of the season.

FINAL:

as of  Sunday morning April, 12 2015

The actual NHL standings are posted on the left and the alternative standings on the right (3 point regulation win).  The alternative standings are based on the NHL allotting 3 points in every NHL game (3 point regulation win).  Three (3) points would be awarded for a win in regulation time instead of 2 points.

The standings will now be in a  3 – 2 – 1 – 0  format.

Keep in mind that these standings are skewed because if NHL teams were actually playing in this format the results would/should be much different.

The Winnipeg Jets clinched a playoff spot in the regular NHL standings.

The Winnipeg Jets and LA Kings clinched the final two spots in the 3 point standings but once again it is skewed because the Jets and Flames rested a lot of their top players in their final game as they had clinched the REAL standings.
