Things about the Winnipeg Jets and the NHL that crossed my mind over the weekend —
Some random facts and a few thoughts from this past week about the Winnipeg Jets and the National Hockey League.
1. The Manitoba Moose it is! Was there ever a doubt?
2. The Brandon Wheat Kings have their backs to the wall trailing in the WHL final 0-2 to the Kelowna Rockets with games 3, 4, and 5 (if necessary) in Kelowna!
3. Winnipeg Jets prospect Nic Petan, finished his junior career with 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points in 17 playoff games.
4. Nothing gets better than a game 7 in the NHL playoffs.
5. Jets prospect Josh Morrissey is off to a nice start in the WHL finals with 3 assists and a plus 4 rating after games 1 and 2.
6. Another Jets top prospect, Connor Hellebuyck is having a huge World Championships for Team USA in the Czech Republic. (4-0 with a shutout)
7. Why is the NHL waiting until Wednesday to play game 7 of the Rangers/Caps series?
8. Is the NHL the worst officiated league in major professional sports?
9. AND why did the NHL wait until Tuesday to play game 6 of the Habs/Lightning series?
10. How many of you out there put down a deposit for one of the Moose season ticket options offered last week?
Sorry for the abbreviated version this week. I have been on the road but we will be back to normal next Monday. Well, as normal as I can be!
