Random Thoughts On The Winnipeg Jets: Mar. 2

Things about the Winnipeg Jets and the NHL that crossed my mind over the weekend —

Some random facts and a few thoughts from this past week about the Winnipeg Jets and the National Hockey League.

1.  The Winnipeg Jets finished last week with a 2-0-1 record.  Five out of a possible six points.  Thoughts?   

2.  The Winnipeg Jets are 9-2-2 at the MTS Centre since Jan. 1, 2015.  

3.  The Winnipeg Jets played 2 of the Western Conference’s heavy-weights this past week and did not take a back seat whatsoever.   

4.  The 5-2 win versus Los Angeles was Michael Hutchinson’s 4th start in a row.

5.  The Winnipeg Jets are finally starting to show that home ice dominance all Jets fans had hoped for.  (see #2)   

6.  Welcome to Winnipeg Jiri Tlusty … acquired from Carolina for a 3rd round draft choice in the 2016 NHL Draft and a conditional 6th round draft choice in the 2015 NHL Draft.  

7.  I think Winnipeg Jets fans are really starting to like defenceman Tyler Myers!     

8.  I still have the Jets sitting at DEFCON 3 because they are still holding down a wildcard spot.

 9.  Welcome to Winnipeg Lee Stempniak … acquired from the New York Rangers for AHL prospect, Carl Klingberg.   

10.  WHAT THE HECK …. suddenly the Winnipeg Jets have depth at forward!!!!!!!!!    

11.  What pending UFA’s would you like to see the Winnipeg Jets resign?

A.)  Michael Frolik

B.)  Drew Stafford

C.)  Jiri Tlusty

D.) All of the above 

12.  Kevin Cheveldayoff has done a nice job the past couple of weeks giving coach Paul Maurice the pieces to help clinch a playoff spot.  (see #6 and #9)   

13.  The NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone.  Are Winnipeg Jets fans happy with what Chevy has done?    

14.  PP update:  The Jets PP didn’t change position this week and is sitting at 13th place at 18.4% overall.   

15.  PK update:  The Jets PK moved up 2 places and is now sitting at 17th place running at 81.1% overall.   

If you have any thoughts on any of these comments or questions, please let me know.  I am a curious person by nature and I need answers.
