Odds and Ends, Thoughts and Questions, from this past week in hockey –
Just so there’s no confusion when I’m spewing my bias, I am a fan of the Winnipeg Jets, Arizona Coyotes, Manitoba Moose, Winnipeg Ice, and all Team Canada Hockey teams.
I am NOT a fan of Gary Bettman or as I call him, Count Chocula. I am a big believer in the 7Ps. You’ve been warned.
1. Jets: The Winnipeg Jets went 1-1-1 last week and are falling further behind in their chase for the last Wildcard spot.
The Jets record currently sits at 24-22-10 and they are 8 points behind Nashville for the final wildcard spot and sit sixth in the Central Division.
Four segments of 13 points will get the Winnipeg Jets to 95 points –
1. Jets: The Winnipeg Jets got their week off to a good start with a solid, fiesty, 2-0 effort versus the Minnesota Wild at home and then headed on the road for road games in Dallas and Nashville where they snagged 3 of 4 points and I dare say they should have had 4 points.
1. Jets: The Winnipeg Jets won their only game this past week, defeating Detroit 3-0 in a solid road win. This win keeps them within striking distance of the final wildcard spot in the Western Conferfence. This was a huge win with the Jets heading out on a four-game road trip next week with games against four very tough teams. With games in Washington, Nashville, Boston, and Pittsburgh this could be a season defining road trip and I would think four points is a must. Right now the Jets record sits at 17-12-5 and they are 3 points out of the last wildcard position.
