Winnipeg Blues vs the Dauphin Kings —
Friday night the Blues took on the Dauphin Kings at the Old Dutch MJHL Showcase. After falling behind 3-1, the Blues fought back and tied it up in the third to force OT. With nothing settled in the extra period, it came down to a shootout. Rowswell scored with the Blues opening shot but was the only Blues shooter to score. With two Kings getting their shots by Spriggs, the Blues fell short in a 4-3 shootout loss. Browning was awarded the Blues Boston Pizza PLayer of the Game award after scoring his first MJHL goal and coming to the aid of his goaltender and gaining the unanimous decision in a third period fight.
Winnipeg Blues vs the Neepawa Natives
Saturday night was a different story as a last second goal by Jackson Keane at the end of the first period was all that would be needed as the Blues cruised to a 5-0 “road” victory over the Neepawa Natives. A shorthanded effort by Callis in the second extended the lead to 2-0 after 40 minutes. The third saw the Blues score three powerplay goals (Callis with his second goal of the night, Lewis, and Heisinger with his first MJHL goal) to make it 5-0 and give Parsons his first MJHL shutout.
