2013-14 Mike Ridley Annual Awards Presented To Bison Hockey Players —

The Mike Ridley Awards were established in 2003-04 season as an endowment fund for the University of Manitoba.  For the 2013-14 season, there are 19 Bison men’s hockey players and four Bison women’s hockey players awarded based on exhibited superior athletic ability coupled with good academic standing and high level of leadership as a full-time student.  Each male student-athlete received $750 and each female student-athlete received $650. Manitoba Bisons Defeat Mount Royal 5-2

A pair of third period power play goals helped power the Manitoba Bisons men’s hockey team past the Mount Royal Cougars 5-2 on Friday, January 10 night in front of an energetic crowd at the Wayne Fleming Arena (U of M campus).

The Manitoba Bisons are only two points back of Top 4 spot; 7-9-2 conference record heading into weekend

Manitoba has a 3-4-1 record so far this season at home on the road and split with Mount Royal earlier in the season on the road (W 1-0 on Oct. 18/13 and L 3-2 on Oct. 19/13). The Bisons have not played at home since the Nov. 15-16 series against Lethbridge and swept the Pronghorns. [Read more…]
