Wayne Gretzky’s Rookie Card Sells For $1.3 Million

The “Great One” continues to set records even long after his playing career is over.  His 1979 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky rookie card just sold for a record $1.3 million.  This is now the most expensive hockey card to have been sold and the first one to sell for over $1 million.  In my opinion, Gretzky is the GOAT, so this card selling for this price doesn’t surprise me.  Wayne Gretzky won eight consecutive MVP and a record total of nine that might not ever be broken.  He won 4 Stanley Cups while playing in Edmonton.
