Some things that crossed my mind this past week about the Winnipeg Jets and the National Hockey League.
Eleven every ten
My theory is that if you can garner a minimum of eleven points in every ten game segment (on average) and win those two extra games you should be in the playoffs or be in the hunt on the last weekend of the season. The team would have ninety-two points. In 2013-14 the Dallas Stars grabbed the last playoff spot with 91 points.

Following “Boss Mitch’s” excellent quarterly report, I’m patching and copying his report cause I don’t have any idea of proper structure so I’m following the boss. The Winnipeg Jets have kept themselves in the playoff race despite many writing off their chances prior to the season. I will give my two cents on the teams strengths and opportunities at the quarter mark of the season. Flying Steady is what they have done well. Climbing Higher and what needs to be done moving forward.

It’s no doubt that the Winnipeg Jets defencemen and goaltenders have been the biggest benefactors of better defensive play from the forward group. The defensive support has allowed this group to play their game to their strengths and they have done that very well. [Read more…]
