It’s no doubt that the Winnipeg Jets defencemen and goaltenders have been the biggest benefactors of better defensive play from the forward group. The defensive support has allowed this group to play their game to their strengths and they have done that very well. [Read more…]
As usual in any hockey season, any given NHL roster is going to have its surprises and it’s disappointments. The Winnipeg Jets are no exception. The Winnipeg Jets forward group in the first quarter of the season has had trouble scoring goals and this is no secret. BUT in fairness to this group, they are executing a new-found defensive awareness not seen in these parts since their arrival from Atlanta. [Read more…]
Eleven every ten
My theory is that if you can garner a minimum of eleven points in every ten game segment (on average) and win those two extra games you should be in the playoffs or be in the hunt on the last weekend of the season. The team would have ninety-two points. In 2013-14 the Dallas Stars grabbed the last playoff spot with 91 points.

During a long NHL season, it doesn’t matter if it’s game number fifteen or game number seventy-two, they are all worth two points. Now in saying that, all two points aren’t created equal. [Read more…]
