The Team Canada National Men’s Summer Under-18 Team has won the gold medal at the 2013 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament, defeating the United States 4-0 in Saturday’s gold medal game in Piestany. Sometimes, killing time on twitter can lead to some interesting if not humorous conversations. On a boring Monday night in August, ex-WHA Winnipeg Jets defenceman and original NHL 1.0 Winnipeg Jet Scott Campbell and I were goofing off on twitter with the regulars just like any other night and we got into some friendly Jets/Coyotes 2013-14 playoff banter. With the signing of RFA Right Winger Blake Wheeler, on Friday night that leaves Defenceman Zach Bogosian as the last piece of the puzzle to be signed. Bogosian’s arbitration hearing is set for for Aug. 2 but I don’t believe it will get to that point. Based on the contracts that fellow Jet RFA’s Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler just signed, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Zach Bogosian sign an 8 year deal at approx 6 million per season. [Read more…]
