Odds and Ends, Thoughts and Questions, from this past week in hockey –

Just so there’s no confusion when I’m spewing my bias, I am a fan of the Winnipeg Jets, Arizona Coyotes, Manitoba Moose, Winnipeg Ice, and all Team Canada Hockey teams.

I am NOT a fan of Gary Bettman or as I call him, Count Chocula.  I am a big believer in the 7Ps. You’ve been warned.

1. Jets:  The Winnipeg Jets played three games this past week going 1-2-0 giving them a record of 36-32-11 on the season and now return home for their final 4 games of the season.   

UPDATE:

Winnipeg Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey has been named the team’s nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.  The Masterton Trophy is awarded annually by the National Hockey League to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.

The trophy is named in honour of the late Bill Masterton (born in Winnipeg), a Minnesota North Stars player who died on January 15, 1968, after sustaining an injury during a hockey game.

SURPRISE! The Winnipeg Jets Extend Their GM and Head Coach.

Kevin Cheveldayoff and Paul Maurice receive contract extensions from the Winnipeg Jets –

I figured I would let the dust settle a little after Winnipeg Jets head-honcho Mark Chipman announced multi-year contract extensions (more than one) for his GM, Kevin Cheveldayoff and Head Coach, Paul Maurice earlier this week.  I wanted to listen to the Kool-Aid drinkers sing their praises and hear all the naysayers spew their venom.  I find this almost as entertaining as watching the games.
