GM Kevin Cheveldayoff and the Winnipeg Jets made their second trade of the week on Friday when they acquired Cody Eakin from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for a 2021 conditional fourth-round pick. The fourth-round pick will become a third-round pick in 2021 if the Jets make the playoffs this year or re-sign Cody Eakin to a new contract. Eakin is slated to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 as his four-year deal worth 3.85 million annually comes to an end. [Read more…]

Eleven every ten
My theory is that if you can garner a minimum of eleven points in every ten game segment (on average) and win those two extra games you should be in the playoffs (92 points) or be in the hunt on the last weekend of the season. The team would have ninety-two points. In 2013-14 the Dallas Stars grabbed the last playoff spot with 91 points.
